You've probably heard plenty of funny ways to describe your love handles. You can use humor to justify your overweight condition. It is a fact that many people are emabrrassed by their love handles. Noone likes having their flabby belly hanging over the top of their pants. Even when you give that a cute name like “muffin top” the appearance of love handles is something that most people try to downplay. Luckily you are not forced to live with them. You can see from the following tips just how easy it is to get in shape and get rid of those love handles.

Start out by moving around. Even low impact exercise, like going for a walk around the block, can be healthy. If you don't want to leave your house, look into buying a treadmill. Set it up in front of your television set so you have no excuse. Dancing to your favorite music is another option. Whatever you choose, just be sure to be active. Sitting around is not going to help you lose any weight. In the end, the only thing you gain by sitting around is more weight. And who wants their love handles to get bigger.

The Couch to 5K program is a running schedule that helps you work up from not being a runner at all to being able to run a 5K. You start off doing low impact walking for thirty minutes, and your pace gradually increases until you are able to run for thirty minutes. You can structure your workout by time or by distance. This program has worked for people with no prior running experience. It gives you the choice about how fast you want to move or how long you want to work out for. If you have a friend to do it with, you can motivate each other. You might be surprised by how much you like running once you can do it for more than a couple of minutes without getting winded.

Get off the couch. It is important to spend at least half an hour of every day exercising. A portion of this time should be aerobic exercise. If you spend a lot of time sitting or not doing much, you are more likely to gain more weight. Exercise is an important factor in keeping the love handles away by burning calories. Exercise will also improve your mood by releasing endorphins which help you fight stress. There are so many positive things that come from exercise. So turn off that television, put down those chips and get a move on!

These not so lovely pockets of fat we refer to as love handles are embarrassing. You are not stuck with them you can choose to do something about them. There are alot of ways to get rid of the extra weight called love handles. Proper diet and exercise is the best way to reduce your body fat. Miracle cures do not exist don't believe anyone who tries to tell you otherwise. It takes hard work and patience to drop excess weight. You'll eventually have the physique you've always wanted to have.
